PSKAI dominates karatefest

THE PSKAI Headquarters Davao emerged overall champion by collecting a total of six gold medals and two silvers at the close of the 31st Kadayawan sa Dabaw Karatedo Invitational Tournament held recently at the NCCC Mall Davao activity center. Miyuki Tacay and Lya Marie Carillo of PSKAI Headquarters led the haul with two gold medals each while Shinji Rex Tacay and Steven Paul Gica had one gold apiece. Antipas North Cotabato placed second by bagging four golds, five silvers and five bronzes. Butuan for its part copped four golds, one silver and two bronzes to place third followed by Davao del Sur with a 3-2-2 medal count in fourth. Cagayan de Oro (3-2-1), University of Mindanao (2-6-4), Surigao (2-2-2), Tagum (2-1-6) and Panabo (2-1-2). The champion received trophies and a cash prize while the runners-up took home medals from the organizers of the event that was presented by PSKAI-Takai Gijutsu School of Martial Arts in cooperation with the Sports Development Division-City Mayor’s Office. The City Government of Davao and NCCC Mall Davao sponsored the tournament. (ABM)
